Hidden For A Time - Jewish King Yeshua

Purim is a story of hiddenness. The very name Esther is connected to the Hebrew word hester, meaning “hidden.” The rabbis speak of hester panim — the “hiding of the face.”
Esther lived with a concealed identity. In the courts of Persia, she did not initially reveal that she was Jewish. Her Hebrew name, Hadassah, was veiled beneath a Persian name. Yet at the appointed time, her identity was made known — and that revelation became the turning point of deliverance for her people.
So it was also with Joseph. Sold by his brothers, stripped of his coat, immersed into Egyptian culture, he looked and spoke like an Egyptian ruler. When his brothers stood before him, they did not recognize him. His identity was hidden in plain sight. But in Genesis 45, the veil lifts: “I am Joseph.” The revelation brought both trembling and redemption.
This pattern points us to Messiah. Jesus of Nazareth — Yeshua — was born a Jew, circumcised on the eighth day, raised in Torah, kept the seventh-day Sabbath, celebrated the feasts, and taught in synagogues. He fully lived His life as a Jew and died as a Jew under a sign that read “King of the Jews.” He was buried according to Jewish custom. He arose from the dead still fully Jewish.
Yet much of the world has been presented with a Messiah detached from His Jewish identity. His Jewishness has often been obscured. In many ways His identity has been hidden — not unlike Esther in Persia or Joseph in Egypt.
But Scripture declares there is coming a revelation.
Just as Joseph revealed himself to his brothers, just as Esther revealed her identity before the king, Messiah will be revealed at the appointed time. Paul writes in Romans 11 that there is a mystery — a partial blindness until the fullness of the nations comes in.
He is not returning as something new. He is returning as who He has always been. A Jewish man.
He will return to a Jewish city - Jerusalem. He will reign from David’s throne. He will stand again on the Mount of Olives. He won’t be teaching anything new - just the same words of His Father that He taught before - except THIS time - the nations will RECEIVE the message and be obedient to the Jewish King sitting on a Jewish throne, and ruling the entire world!
The prophets declare:
Micah 4:2. People from many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of Jacob’s God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the Torah will go out from Zion; his word will go out from Jerusalem (Also Isaiah 2:3).
Jerusalem, His purely Jewish city, will once again shine with splendour:
Micah 2:8 As for you, Jerusalem, the citadel of God’s people, your royal might and power will come back to you again. The kingship will be restored to my precious Jerusalem.
This alone speaks volumes to those who claim the “Old Testament” has been done away with. The very prophets declare that in Messiah’s reign, the teachings and instructions — the Torah — will proceed from Jerusalem to the nations. The King who returns is not abolishing God’s instruction; He is establishing it from His throne.
The hidden Jewish King and Messiah will become visible and the veiled will be unveiled.
Purim reminds us that even when God’s face seems hidden, His covenant purposes are moving history toward redemption. What appears concealed is only waiting for the appointed moment of revelation.
Just as Esther’s identity brought deliverance. Just as Joseph’s revelation brought reconciliation, so the revelation of Messiah will bring restoration, deliverance, and reconciliation.
Hidden for a time BUT Revealed at the right time.
Bo, King Yeshua, Bo!
